Andrea Radrizzani blasts Sky Sports after Nketiah claims, sends message to the fans

Andrea Radrizzani blasts Sky Sports after Nketiah claims, sends message to the fans – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Leeds United loanee Eddie Nketiah grabbed a hattrick for England’s under-21 in the 5-1 win over Austria last night, and as expected, fans called for his inclusion in manager Marcelo Bielsa’s starting line-up.

The Arsenal kid is yet to start a Championship game for the Elland Road outfit since arriving on a season-long loan on summer transfer deadline day.

Nketiah has two goals in seven league appearances for Leeds and two others in as many League Cup games.

However, Patrick Bamford remains Bielsa’s first-choice striker.

Following his heroics last night, Sky Sports claimed Nketiah isn’t unhappy with his bench role at the club and a Leeds fan urged Bielsa to start him on Saturday or play him and Bamford together.

Whites owner Andrea Radrizzani has reacted to the tweet, blasting Sky Sports for having so much interest in making news out of the club and has sent this message to the fans:

Bristol City have been linked with a January interest in Nketiah, and it will be interesting to see what happens between now and then.

Leeds beat the Ashton Gate outfit and others to the signature of the 20-year-old, and Arsenal, who want him to play regularly have the option to recall him in January.

Report reveals Leeds’ optimism regarding attacker’s future at the club

Leeds United are confident of holding on to Eddie Nketiah beyond January.

The on-loan Arsenal attacker has been linked with a move away. Apparently, the Gunners could recall him and Bristol City are interested in the player as well.

According to a report from Daily Mirror, the Whites are calm about the situation. They are certain that Nketiah will be a key player for them in the coming months and the Gunners will not recall him from the loan.

Arsenal have the option to recall the player but it would be quite surprising if they exercised their right to bring Nketiah back.

They have Lacazette and Aubameyang as their starting strikers and Nketiah won’t be able to feature for the first team regularly.

He is better off playing for Leeds United and learning the game under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa.

It will be interesting to see what happens in January.

Nketiah has been quite impressive for Leeds United so far and losing him would be a blow for the Whites.

Also, the young forward needs more game time at this stage of his career and returning to Arsenal would be a poor decision for him.

The 20-year-old is not a regular starter at Leeds yet but he has played eight times so far and he should be able to cement his place in the first team soon.

Report: Bielsa’s starting XI decision could hand Championship rivals massive boost

Report: Bielsa's starting XI decision could hand Championship rivals massive boost – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is yet to start a Championship game for Leeds United since moving to Elland Road on a season-long loan on summer transfer deadline day.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay recently claimed head coach Marcelo Bielsa is yet to fully embrace the youngster, with Patrick Bamford still firmly his first-choice striker.

While Nketiah has seven league appearances for Leeds thus far, Arsenal want him to get regular first-team action and do have the option to recall him in January, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claims Bristol City are ready to come after his services in January after missing out on him during the summer.

Leeds beat them and other Championship suitors to the signature of the youngster during the summer, but could lose him at the turn of the year if regular playing minutes and a place in the starting XI can be guaranteed at Ashton Gate.

Nketiah has shown he is capable of delivering, scoring four times in nine games for the Whites.

However, Bielsa doesn’t have a place for two strikers in his starting line-up, and that decision could force Arsenal’s hands, handing Bristol a massive boost.

Both clubs have secured 20 points from their opening 11 games of the campaign and will need lots of goals and points to secure Premier League promotion at the end of the season.

Nketiah is more than capable of helping either side achieve that, and it will be interesting to see where he is playing by February.

‘Different class, superb’: Ex-Leeds defender gushes over Bielsa summer signing

'Different class, superb': Ex-Leeds defender gushes over Bielsa summer signing – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Former Leeds United defender Ben Parker has showered heaps of praise on summer signing Ben White saying he is an upgrade on Pontus Jansson.

Leeds United sold Jansson, who was one of the fan favourites at the club, during the summer transfer window to Brentford.

Marcelo Bielsa signed White from Brighton and Hove Albion on loan as his replacement. The 21-year-old has been phenomenal for the Whites and he is vital to Bielsa’s plans this season.

“Pontus is a good player, he was a big character, fans liked him. So when we were looking around at the options, we just had Ben White coming to the club, a young player who had been out on loan a couple of times,” said Parker to the Yorkshire Evening Times.

“For him to step up and be an upgrade on Pontus speaks volumes for him personally.”

“In terms of what he does out on a pitch, where he gets judged ultimately, different class, superb. The kitmen must love him because I don’t think they have to wash his kit, he doesn’t seem to sweat, doesn’t get it dirty, never slides in, never caught out of position.

“Kiko must love playing with him because he can just roll him the ball, he might glide past someone, do a simple pass, but whatever he does is the right thing at that moment and that’s what you want from a centre-half.”

The best thing about White is his decision making. He is tactically smart, his reading of the game is absolutely brilliant, and that is why he is very good at making interceptions.

Furthermore, White has this ability to pick out a team-mate from long-range, and as a result, he has been such a crucial player to execute Bielsa’s plans.

The youngster is also comfortable running with the ball from deep and formed a strong partnership with Liam Cooper.

Surely, Brighton will be watching his progress with keen interest and he is expected to play for them next season. The only way Leeds can sign him permanently is if they secure promotion to the Premier League, which is their primary aim this season.

Phil Hay hints it could be defender’s last season at Leeds after club’s decision

Phil Hay hints it could be defender's last season at Leeds after club's decision – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi is in the final months of his contract at Elland Road, and the club are yet to start contract extension talks with him.

The Athletic journalist Phil Hay claims the Swiss is the only player in such a situation whom the club are yet to discuss a new deal with, and he hints it could mean he is in his last season at Elland Road.

The trio of Stuart Dallas, Mateusz Klich and Pablo Hernandez started contract renewal talks having entered this season with a year left on their deals, and the fact that Leeds haven’t initiated talks with another player who was also in such a situation speaks volume.

Berardi started the new season behind the centre-back pairing of Liam Cooper and Ben White in the pecking order after he spent most of last season on the treatment table, but a six-week injury to the former handed him a chance against Millwall last weekend.

The 31-year-old was sent off 14 minutes into the game – his seventh red card in Leeds colours – but the decision has since been rescinded following a successful appeal, and he is expected to retain his place in the starting XI when Birmingham City come visiting.

The former Sampdoria man has spent five years at Elland Road and his versatility has come handy under many managers, but his recent injury and disciplinary records have made him dispensable, and he could be on his way out of Yorkshire next summer.
