Picture gallery: Man United players buzzing in training after smashing Chelsea

Manchester United’s stars appeared by in a buoyant mood following their 4-0 rout over Chelsea as they prepare for a tough upcoming test vs Wolves.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men failed to beat the Wanderers last season but they will need to do so this time around to keep up momentum.

United cannot afford to show the inconsistency they showed last season otherwise they’ll face the same end result.

As good as the win against Chelsea was, Solskjaer will recognise the scoreline exaggerated the performance a little and so he’ll have to ensure his players remain focussed for their next opponents.

As far as how the dressing room atmosphere is, it seems the Red Devils’ stars are as happy as ever which will come in handy when the season gets tough.

Wolves are certainly stronger this season having made some smart acquisitions over the summer transfer window.

They’ve shown multiple times they’re a tough team to beat who play fantastic football and it’s likely they’ll battle for the Europa League spots this season too.

If there’s a side out of the traditional top six who can compete for a top four spot, it’s probably Wolves.

However, Manchester United have every reason to believe themselves and take the game to their opponents so hopefully it ends in a positive result for Solskjaer’s men.

The best photos from Manchester United 4-0 Chelsea

Manchester United enjoyed a dream start to their 2019-20 campaign by claiming a thumping 4-0 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The hosts began the game poorly but Marcus Rashford‘s penalty on 15 minutes drew them out of their shells, with Anthony Martial adding a second on the hour mark.

Seconds later, with Chelsea’s defence still asleep, Paul Pogba looped a perfect ball over the top for Rashford to score his second and the home side’s third, before substitute and new signing Daniel James rounded off the scoring and followed it up with a genuinely moving celebration – one bursting with raw joy and almost disbelief.

Picture: Maguire all smiles after completing Man United medical

Manchester United’s close-to-be-official latest signing Harry Maguire has been spotted leaving the club’s facilities smiling after reportedly completing his medical.

The experts on the deal had claimed the talented Englishman won’t be officially announced until Monday and that seems to be the case despite a breakthrough in negotiations happening on Friday.

On Saturday Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pretty much confirmed the transfer, stating only minor, insignificant details were left to conclude and so there should be no issues.

Maguire will be the legendary Norwegian’s third signing after Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James with United seemingly focussing solely on British talent so far.

It was believed all through negotiations the former Hull man was pushing for the transfer to happen which may have helped proceedings.

The need for a quality centre-back at Old Trafford has been well documented and it’s interesting to see Solskjaer believe Maguire is that man.

Perhaps the more interesting matter is seeing who the former Molde man will decide to sell given the well overstocked defensive position.

Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof and Axel Tuanzebe were all Solskjaer’s options before Maguire’s arrival.

With just two positions in the starting XI, it’s not farfetched to say at least two of the aforementioned players will be moved on.

The best photos from Manchester United 4-0 Leeds United

Manchester United produced a dominant first-half performance to claim a 4-0 win over Leeds United in the club’s second match of their pre-season tour.

Mason Greenwood, who was once again electric, opened the scoring after some fine work between Paul Pogba and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, before Marcus Rashford doubled the lead with an excellent solo-effort.

In the second half, Phil Jones scored directly from a corner – which, in United’s case, is more significant than it sounds as they never score from corners – and Anthony Martial rounded off the scoring from the spot.

Pictures: Man United’s new signing in training for the first time

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been pictured training in Manchester United kit for the first time after joining the club from Crystal Palace last month.

The right-back, who made 35 Premier League starts for Palace last season, moved to Old Trafford for a fee of £45m plus a potential further £5m in add-ons.

He has joined up with his teammates for a pre-season tour of Australia and Singapore, with Man United arriving in Perth yesterday ahead of their opening game against A-League side Perth Glory on Saturday.

Wan-Bissaka was pictured working hard with his teammates as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer put United players through a light training session on their first full day in Perth.

The 21-year-old arrived late to pre-season after playing in the Euro Under-21 Championships with England. Supporters will be desperate to see him play as much as possible on this tour as Solskjaer looks to lay the foundations for a team which does not include Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young at full-back.

Manchester United have landed in Australia with fans rightfully getting excited as the club’s pre-season tour begins.

Supporters will get to see, perhaps for the first time, just what an Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side looks like as it’s the first summer he’s in charge.

United’s form dropped off shocking after beginning the Norwegian’s reign superbly and many put it down to a lack of fitness.

Should Solskjaer fix the squad’s fitness issues then it’s likely that fans will witness the same quality football as they did at the start.

The former striker has also added Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to the squad and so supporters will also get a better idea of the type of players he wishes to have.

United are understood to be searching for more signings to make with the likes of Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff all heavily linked with a transfer to Old Trafford.

Although fans will be pleased to see all three, it could be argued they’re more curious over who will be sold.

So far Ole hasn’t really moved anyone on with just Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia departing at the end of their contracts so it will be telling to see who he considers to be deadwood.

Picture: Wan-Bissaka in a Man United shirt when he was younger

A photo of Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been circulating around social media of late with Manchester United fans delighting over it.

The Englishman has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford but nothing official has happened as of yet.

Supporters have grown increasingly frustrated as there appears to be mixed reports on whether the youngster is moving just yet or not.

Wan-Bissaka is said to be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s priority target of the summer and for good reason given the lack of quality in the right-back position.

The defender would certainly strengthen the position and should he develop as expected, it would be his for at least the next decade.

Aaron was believed to be a boyhood United fan and this photo seems to confirm that was the case, meaning reports saying he was pushing for the move could have some truth.

The Red Devils options for the right-back spot last season were Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian and Diogo Dalot.

The Ecuadorian has left on a free transfer while the Italian is expected to depart this summer having been searching for a ticket out for quite some time.

Dalot and Young’s versatility has helped them gain match-time during the last campaign but there are serious question marks over the latter’s ability.

The Englishman has declined shockingly fast with fans believing he should also be moved on this transfer window.

Diogo is touted for a bright future but some, perhaps including Solskjaer, feel he’s not quite ready for regular first-team football.

This means there’s a spot open for a right-back and given Manchester United’s defensive woes last season, it makes sense to make an approach for one.

Should Wan-Bissaka arrive, it’s likely fans will warm up to him quickly, particularly since such images surfaced, making his love for the club seem genuine.
