Jack Clarke is a highly rated young talent and Leeds United are trying their best to keep hold of him despite interest from Premier League clubs.

According to reports from Football London, the Whites have turned down a bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Clarke.

Earlier this week, the Daily Mail claimed that Spurs had made an offer in the region of £10m for the highly-rated winger. However, Leeds have shown no indication of selling him, and have reportedly rejected Spurs’ opening bid.

Leeds should not sell Clarke

Clarke is a promising young talent, and he will only get better in the coming years.

The offer submitted by Spurs is indeed tempting, and £10m is a lot of money, especially for a Championship club. However, Clarke is expected to play a big role for Leeds next season, and if the Yorkshire club are to launch yet another promotion challenge next season, they must keep hold of their prized assets.

The 18-year-old made four starts and 20 substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds in 2018/19, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

According to reports from Spanish newspaper AS, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Real Betis to sign their highly rated midfielder Giovani Lo Celso in the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Spurs, who didn’t sign a single player in their last two transfer windows, are willing to pay a massive £52 million (would be a record signing for them) for the midfielder.

Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen has been linked with a move away from Spurs this summer, and Lo Celso could be a handy replacement for him, in case he leaves the club.

The Spanish newspaper adds that Spurs and Betis have been negotiating a deal for Lo Celso, and 20% of the fee will go to Paris St Germain.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a fantastic 2018/19 campaign for Betis where he scored 16 goals and registered six assists in 46 appearances.

The midfielder cost Betis £20million and the La Liga club are adamant that they won’t part with the player unless they receive an offer three times of that value.

However, according to Diario de Sevilla, Spurs’s opening bid for Lo Celso has been rejected.

‘We have a good relationship’ – Pochettino comments on Spurs summer target

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has spoken highly of Gareth Bale who could leave Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Bale’s future at Madrid is under doubt after Zinedine Zidane has made it clear that the Welshman is not in his long term plans.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Tottenham with The Sun reporting that the north London club are interested in bringing back their former player to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Recently The Times reported Madrid could even be willing to let Bale go for free. Bale was a hugely popular figure among the Spurs fans, and enjoyed a great time at the club between 2007 to 2013 before he moved to European giants Madrid for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £85 million.

Pochettino rates the Welsh winger highly and told the El Chiringuito TV that they share a good relationship.

“He’s a Real Madrid player. But we have a good relationship. We played against him last year. I have good references about him.

“Everyone has a fond memory of him here, just like they do at Southampton. He still has three years on his contract at Madrid. It’s a situation that isn’t easy for him and isn’t easy for the club.”

Bale would be a cracking signing for Spurs, but he may have to take a massive pay-cut to return to his former club. During his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, Bale has won one La Liga title, and the Champions League four times.
